What People Are Saying
“The arty element definitely seemed to encourage creativity breaking down any barriers. This allowed us to contribute probably more authentically than in a traditional setting. I think as we had some practical ideas going forward it achieved beyond what we had hoped. The actions seemed to more realistic and achievable.”
“From planning to execution, Nicola was professional and informative with how the session would work, including the summation of our problem statement. The day itself was great. Nicola made the team feel really relaxed. Nicola also coached the session well and really got us motivated and thinking throughout. The team really enjoyed the session and as a team really gained from the problem solving process. So much so, that the team were still discussing the problem statement when we got back to the office.”
“Nicola was extremely warm and friendly when we arrived which steadied the nerves for sure. The set up was professional but relaxed, as was Nicola. You could tell there was a great deal of business psychology behind the session but wasn’t just your usual ‘sit around a meeting room desk with a white board and brainstorm’; it was fun and thought provoking.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it really work?
Barbara McClintock discovered that genes can move — a finding that completely rewrote genetics and eventually helped us understand things like cancer, evolution, and how traits actually change. And she didn’t figure it out by intense lab‑grinding.
She figured it out while wandering cornfields, doing repetitive hand‑pollination, and basically letting her brain solve the problem while her hands got on with the boring bits.
Her take?
“The more I worked with them, the more they revealed.”
Neuroscience now confirms it: some of your smartest ideas show up when you’re doing something extremely ordinary — walking, cooking, gardening, showering, or avoiding the thing you’re meant to be solving.
Her breakthrough wasn’t about superhuman focus. It was about giving her brain room to think.
